MISSION STATEMENT: 

To bring current trends and popular culture together through hair and makeup. Every face is different so working to enhance your best features is my ultimate goal. Whether it be your haircut, hair colour, keratin, hairstyle, or makeup…. walk out that door with a swagger. Life is so much easier when you feel put together.

SALON OR MOBILE:

I work 3-4 days in the salon in Darlinghurst and freelance the rest of the week, coming to you for event hair and makeup. This flexibility allows me to work around your schedule to take care of all your needs including working on a Sunday and Monday when most salons are closed and earlier or later time slots when life gets demanding. Although I am an easy  5 minute walk from Kings Cross Train station, If you are travelling in from further afar and need to park for longer periods, perhaps Sundays in the Darlinghurst will  suit you best or my mobile service can save you time.

27 YEARS EXPERIENCE

After doing a four-year apprenticeship in Australia with national award winning hairdressers I took my career overseas for five years gaining valuable international experience working in London and Toronto, working backstage in London Fashion weeks and studying cutting, colouring at Vidal Sassons. On returning to Sydney, I joined Toni and Guy and worked my way up to be an Art Director, whilst doing makeup on the side with fashion shots, Album covers and weddings then launched my solo career in all aspects of hair and makeup for the last 10 years. I am a firm believer in continually investing my spare time into upskilling and staying on trend in the world of hairdressing and makeup, aligning with prestigious, high quality products and brands.

PERSONAL SERVICE:

From the minute you book, to sitting in my chair, I aim to make your one to one boutique experience with me relaxed and professional.  You are the most important person to me so if you wish to take a break from the hectic world and be pampered,  or catch up on some work whilst getting your hair done,  allow me to take charge of your locks to lipstick either in the salon or in your home.   I am flexible with bookings and can work as early or late to accommodate your schedule whenever possible.  I work mostly in the shop in Darlinghurst but have flexibility around the other days and to come to you too by request. Please note though, during these current times it is now recommended to book ahead as lastminute bookings may not comply with the Covid Safety measures (see more detail below).

 

SUSTAINABILITY:

Having a great love for our planet, and an awareness of climate change I choose whenever possible to work with sustainable brands and practices to protect ourselves, our environment and our animals. Kevin Murphy salon products have natural ingredients harvested from sustainable practices, no SLS, parabens, no testing on animals and the packaging is recycled from Ocean Waste Plastic. Nontoxic Cezanne Smoothing Keratin is also used, Colour Design (Italy)  has no ammonia and is measured precisely to prevent wastage into our water systems. Any minimal chemical excess is safely disposed of and Aluminium foil, cardboard, glass and recycling is done on a daily basis.
